How’s your holiday?
I had enough time for my photography, and have finished some images taken in 2016.
They still need some for finish, but I think I can show you them soon later.
Sorry for NOT updating any blogs after renewed my web. I’ve been so busy for creating newly images for some competitions and other family chores. Yeah, I know it’s all just excuse, so my resolution for 2017 is “write a blog, and produce one new image at least once a month”. Sound nice right?
OK, Let’s go to the today’s post.
Beside the annual resolution, my eternal resolution, or motto is “Be Unique”.
So here is the tips for “Be Unique” which I always try to do.
The term “original” and “originality” sound similar, but the meanings are quite different.
“Original” means “Origin”, completely new thing, idea, technique, which anyone never seen or done before.
On the other hand “Originality” can be said “Creativity”or “Uniqueness”.
Needless to say that making something an “original” is extremely hard.
I have no idea what to say about that, however having originality or being creative is rather easy than create an original, IMHO.
Here are some ideas that I always keep in my mind.
In the photography, there seems no subjects which have not shot by anyone at anyplace.
Once the “fresh” image of subject or location has uploaded, soon they got staled with shot by millions.
Thank you for the popularity “TOKYO SKY TREE” is no more than fresh subject or location.
Adding to say, once the icon “TOKYO TOWER” is already an expired subject.
However having some originality or creativity , you can make stale subject fresh look. (I’ll write about more in “part 2”)
In the technical side, “daylight hyper long-exposure” once gained huge popularity, but it’s quite a norm today.
It’s not a rare technique anymore, and everyone can do with the right cameras with the high quality filters, like Formatt-Hitech’ Firecrest.
No new subject, No technique.
Under that condition, what and how do we shoot ?
How do we find our originality?
It’s all about your “thought”
or your own “perspective” toward a subject.
“I don’t have such thing!”
I know. I didn’t have them either when I was green.
But you don’t have to have one or two when you shoot.
In this era “IDEA” play the huge role to make a unique image.
This topic is going to longer than I expected.
To be continued “Part 2”
