One day a friend of mine, who once had been shooting “Abandoned place” photography vigorously,
said to me:
” My activity, it looks like visiting a Disneyland. I visited an attraction (abandoned place), and just take a photo”
He quit visiting those place after that feeling he had, couldn’t finding any interest with those place.
When I heard it, I thought
” It is kind of the same to the fine art architecture photography.”
Visiting popular architectures, and just take a photo.
You might say
” No! I consider my own composition, read light, use filters, etc.etc.”
Yes, you do.
But whenever I saw the similar bw -fine-art style photographs, I can’t stop thinking
they are kind of the same to photograph with a popular “big mouse”-like creature.
The picture is “Sayamaike Museum”, designed by Tadao Ando, a Japanese famous architect.
What a gorgeous reflection, wasn’t it?
Yes, but it was designed to be so. Ando calculate everything, including the reflection.
So, I just visited there, and take the photo.
I borrow a piece of talent from the architect, and put my taste a little bit for it and show as my art.
May be it can be called “collaboration” with an architect or architectures.
Don’t boast your pics but respect architects (or architectures), otherwise your pics are the same with bunch of “Disneyland”
pictures.
I’ve been cautioning myself.
